Description

This is a 17th-century house that was refaced in the 19th century and subsequently divided into two shops and a flat. The rear of the building is timber-framed and weatherboarded; the front and south end are stuccoed brick. It has a steeply pitched roof covered in old red tiles. The house faces west with a long front featuring four windows, and the first-floor windows have irregular spacing. A corbelled brick pilaster is located at the southwest corner, appearing to flank a front projection. It contains recessed sash windows, and the shop windows on the ground floor, particularly the one on the right-hand side, date from the late 19th century and have a fascia. The roof is structured with three bays, showing signs of a central chimney in the south side of the middle bay, which has now been removed. The building is included on the list for its group value and also incorporates the property at No 1 Little Lane.
