Description
Easter Cottage and Number 64 is a house, now serving as a house and a shop, dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a low stucco sill, with roughcast walls and a steep old red tile roof that has a slated eaves course. The building is two stories high and consists of three cells, facing west with a central chimney located a third of the way from the north end, and a south gable chimney positioned behind the ridge.
The front is nearly symmetrical, with three windows across, and has boxed eaves supported by shaped brackets. The upper windows are 2-and 3-light flush casements from the 19th century, each with moulded surrounds. The main entrance is located beneath a central 2-light window, while a shop door is situated at the north end of the front. To the right of the central door, there is a flush-box sash window with 8/8 panes and a hood mould, and to the left, a small-paned shop window of similar proportions.
At the northeast, there is a long two-story rear wing that is tiled and weatherboarded over painted brick, featuring 19th-century 2-light flush casement windows. The building is included for its group value.
