Description

Gilpin House is a house dating from the late 17th century with a front built in the 18th century. The structure features a timber frame that is roughcast, with a red brick front that includes some blue headers, and a stucco plinth and floor band. It has a steep old red tile roof and is designed in a two-storey, end-chimney plan, facing west. The front is asymmetrical, with three windows on each floor and a door located beside the right-hand window. The windows are flush box sash types, with the sashes renewed to have 2/2 panes and segmental arches above each window on both floors. The entrance features a six-panel raised and fielded door, with the top two panels glazed, set back within a moulded frame and surround. Above the door is a moulded flat hood supported by shaped brackets.
