Description
No 100 High Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a steep red-tiled roof. The building has an asymmetrical design, consisting of two storeys and cellars, with a double-pile layout and end chimneys. It faces west and includes an additional south bay in the front range.
The front has four windows, with the second bay from the north slightly projecting and containing the entrance door and a window above. The windows are triple-sash with small panes, plastered reveals, and segmental gauged arches. There are two steps leading up to a six-panel door, which is topped by a fanlight and a deep moulded arched stucco hoodmould. The north end of the house features English-bond brickwork. The gable ends have parapets and internal gable chimneys with toothed courses in corbelled caps. The house was formerly known as Top o' Town House.
