Description
Harvey Cottage is a house that dates from the late 16th century and was remodeled in the early 19th century. It is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a steep thatched hipped roof. The house has two storeys and faces north. The early 19th-century front is symmetrical, made of red brick with black headers, featuring a dentilled eaves cornice and a dentilled floor band. The lower windows have segmental arches, and there is a blind recess above the central door. The upper windows have exposed wooden lintels, and the central doorway is round-headed. Both floors have small paned Yorkshire sliding sash windows. The entrance features a flush-beaded four-panel door with a blind tympanum above it. A large central chimney made of red brick has four flues. At the rear, there is a lean-to with a stair under a catslide thatched roof. The plinth is plastered, and there is a weatherboarded apron at the back.
