Description
Woolpack Croft is a house located in Westmill village, dating from the 17th century or earlier. It has a timber frame that is plastered and features a steep thatched roof. The house has a three-unit plan with a central chimney positioned a third of the way from the west end, along with an internal gable chimney at the east end. It is one and a half storeys high along the street. The building includes eyebrow dormers with two-light casement windows at the eaves, with two on the north side (located in the middle and east part) and one in the middle on the south side. Below the dormers on the north front, there are two three-light flush casement windows. The entrance is now located at the rear, and there are windows in the west end. The roof features side purlins with a drip-board across the purlin ends on the east gable. Inside, there are chamfered axial beams, exposed joists, straight tension braces, and a chamfered lintel above a wide fireplace. There is a 20th-century block added to the rear, which is not of special interest.
