Description
No 6 High Street is a mid-18th century house that has been stuccoed and altered in the early 19th century. It features an old red tile triple-pitched roof and stands three storeys tall. The front of the building faces the street and has five windows, originally arranged symmetrically with an arched central opening on the first floor. The first and second floor windows are all 18th century sash windows without architraves, and there is a plain parapet at the top. The ground floor has undergone early 19th century and modern alterations, displaying some rustication and a damaged classical door surround on the north side, along with three sash windows. The rear elevation is made of red brick and includes modern sashes and casements, with a modillion cornice below the parapet. Inside, there is an 18th century classical door surround on the first floor landing, featuring slim fluted Doric pilasters on pedestals, a broken entablature, and a dentil cornice.
