Description

Motts Cottage and Woodham Cottage are two houses located in Much Hadham village, dating back to the 16th century. The buildings feature a timber frame construction, with a modern plastered street front set over a brick plinth. They have a steep old tile roof and consist of two storeys plus an attic. The south side has a jettied cross wing, showcasing exposed timbering on the first floor and a plastered jettied gable above. Both the ground and first floors have leaded casement windows. There are modern two-storey rear extensions to the north and south. Inside, there is a large brick chimneystack towards the north and chamfered and stopped exposed beams on the first floor.
