Description

The Rectory is a 16th-century timber-framed building with a plastered exterior, located on the east side of High Street in Much Hadham village. It features an old tiled roof and stands two storeys tall. The cross wing on the north side has a hipped roof with a gablet and a slightly jettied first floor, showcasing exposed studs and curved braces. There is a similar gabled projection towards the south over the entrance door, which has undergone some restoration work. The windows are modern, consisting of three- and four-light diamond leaded casements. The roof has been remade, and there is a 19th-century red brick extension at the rear of the north end.
