Description
This is a house located at 108 High Street, dating from the 17th century or earlier. The northern wing was demolished in the 20th century. The structure features a timber frame resting on a flint sill, with the front stuccoed and the ground floor of the southern end weatherboarded. It has a steep old red tile roof that is half-hipped at the southern end. Originally, it was a T-plan house facing east, with a northern crosswing. The central chimney and lobby entry remain, although part of the northern section of the chimney has been demolished. The house has one storey and attics, with two gabled dormers that rise above the front eaves. Below, there are two windows: a two-light flush casement and a flush sash window, both featuring small panes. There is a four-panel moulded door in a plain surround located in the re-entrant angle behind the house. The interior includes heavy flat-laid rafters.
