Description
65 and 67 High Street is a house that has been divided into two properties. It dates from the 17th century and has been modified over time. The building features a timber frame set on a stucco sill, with roughcast walls. The rear stair tower and a small front extension to No 65 are covered with weatherboarding. The house has steep old red tile roofs and is two storeys high, following a three-cell, central-chimney plan, facing west. The central stack is located a third of the way from the south end, with a gabled stair tower projecting to the rear. The west front has two windows on each floor, plus an additional window for No 65 in a lean-to front extension at the northwest corner. The windows are three-light flush casements with a single bar. No 65 features a plank door in a simple frame with a flat hood, while No 67 has a flat-roofed glazed porch. The roof structure includes high-set purlins.
