Description

This is a two-storey house, likely dating to the early 18th century or earlier, with a brick façade added in the early 19th century. The original timber frame is visible as roughcast on the painted brick sill. The front is red brick, rendered and with a stucco plinth, topped with a steep, old red tile roof that has bellcast eaves to the front. It is a long house, raised above street level, facing east. A red brick external gable chimney, with tumbled brick offsets, is visible at the north end, and a rear lateral chimney is present on the south part of the building. The window arrangement is irregular. The north section has two flush box sash windows on each floor, each with 8/8 panes. A 6-panel raised and fielded door is set up four steps, sheltered by a flat hood supported on heavy, shaped brackets. A similar doorcase is to the south, with a boarded door flanked by two small, flat-topped bay windows, and three 2-light casements above. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the street.
