Description
Lyndhurst is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of plum brick with red brick dressings and features a steep red tile roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, measuring three windows wide, and is raised above the street, facing east. The symmetrical eastern front includes a hipped dormer with a heavy cornice at the center of the roof, a bold wooden moulded eaves cornice with mutules, a floor band, and a projecting plinth. There is a flat gauged arch above a central wide window that is now blocked. The house has two two-storey tile-hung canted sash bay windows with dentilled cornices, symmetrically placed where the original windows were located. The central entrance has been blocked and relocated to the south side when a rear wing was added. There is an internal gable chimney on the south side and an external chimney on the north side, which is flanked by tile hanging on the upper storey.
