Description
This is a late 17th or early 18th century house, with a later 19th-century addition to the north end and division into two properties during the 19th century. The house is timber-framed with a stucco sill and has roughcast rendering, plaster quoins, and an old red tile roof. Originally a three-cell plan with a central chimney, the house faces west. The central chimney is positioned a third from the north end, and the original front door was situated a third from the south end. A single-bay, two-storey brick addition was built to the north end in the 19th century, featuring an internal gable chimney. Plaster quoins divide the front facade slightly north of the chimney, with two windows on each floor and a central door to each section. A smaller window was inserted on the first floor to the right of the entrance door of the property at number 47. Number 45 has 2-light casement windows (replaced) and an enclosed gabled porch with a 6-panel door. Number 47 has 3-light casement windows (replaced) and a 6-panel moulded door, sheltered by a lean-to tiled porch. Iron railings run along a low blue brick wall at the front of the property. Gabled wings extend to the rear. The building is included on the list for its group value.
