Description
The Granary at Upp Hall, located 60 meters north of the mansion, is an outbuilding dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in irregular English bond and features a steep old red tile hipped roof. The building is a single-storey structure with three bays, and it has a central entrance on the south end, along with two narrow chamfered window openings that originally had arched heads on the east side. The walls are very thick, and the building has been reduced in height. The interior is whitewashed, and the roof structure consists of queen struts and purlins, with the first tie beam from the south being morticed for a cross-partition. The original use of the granary is uncertain. It has a wide plank door on the south side, with a narrower louvred opening above it.
