House. Late C16 or early C17, C18 SE wing, house partly refronted in early C19 extended to E later C19, curvilinear gables on E added early C20 (RCHM Typescript). An irregular 2 storeys house set back from the street. Lower N part timberframed and plastered with old red tile roofs and 2 red brick chimneys. Longer S part in red brick, possibly C18 casing of an older structure. 3 large sash windows on each floor, the centre with a segmental headed top sash, and louvred shutters to each. Flat gauged arches over lower windows. Panelled door in centre with tiled lean-to porch. 2 storeys C19 red brick block attached at SE with 4-centred gateway with pilasters and moulded entablature. E front has early C20 plaster curvillinear gables with applied timberwork, bay window, and square turret with vane. An historic house with a complicated history. Part of the picturesque group in this part of the village Conservation Area. (Pevsner (1977) 406).
