Description
Wayside Cottage is a house, which was formerly two cottages, dating from the early 18th century and divided in the 19th century. It has a timber frame set on a painted brick plinth and is covered in dark weatherboarding with a steep old red tile roof. The building is two storeys high and follows a two-unit, central-chimney plan, facing west. There are two windows on each floor and two similar doors located towards the middle. The first floor features two-light 19th-century projecting wooden Yorkshire sliding casements, while the ground floor has two-light casement windows with small hoods. The doors are boarded and have inclined hoods supported by shaped brackets, with the right-hand door currently in use. A red brick chimney is centrally located on the roof.
