Description

Home Farm Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and a rear extension added in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with decorative fan pargetting over a stucco plinth and has an old red tile roof. The cottage has a low pitched slated lean-to roof on the rear extension, which extends across the northern end. It is an L-shaped, two-storey house that faces east. The layout consists of a three-unit lobby-entry with a central chimney plan, and it includes a large external rear lateral red brick chimney for the middle room, as well as a later rear fireplace in the northern end room. There is a gabled rear wing at the southern end. The front of the house has four windows on the first floor and a door located a third of the way from the southern end. The windows are two-light flush casement windows with small panes that have been renewed. The entrance features a four-panel flush beaded door set in a moulded surround, complete with a frieze and cornice.
