Description

Westfield Lodge is a house dating circa 1830. It is constructed of painted stucco with a slate roof. The house is set at a right angle to the Hadham Road, with a single window visible on its south side. A projecting ground floor is present. A first-floor sash window is framed by an architrave surround and a bracketed cornice. The second floor has a round-headed sash window set within a bracketed gable pediment, broken at the bottom.

The main east elevation is symmetrical, featuring three windows. The central doorway is accentuated by a Greek revival doorcase, featuring consoles on slim pedestals, a deep cornice, and a large round top. The entrance is accessed via old flagstone steps. The windows retain their original sashes, with the upper sashes being square. A decorative band runs between the first and second floors and the eaves are deep and plain. The house is well-set amongst tall pine trees.
