Description

Mill bridge and sluice at Gatesbury, located 10 meters to the south-southeast of the house, date from the 18th century or earlier. The structure features red brick and timber sluices with iron raising gear. It forms part of the substructure of a watermill that was recorded in 1636 and demolished in 1906. The bridge has a parabolic downstream arch and brick parapets that splay outwards and sweep down to each side. This picturesque feature complements the nearby house.
