Description

This is a tombchest located in St Mary's churchyard in Braughing village, dating from the mid-18th century. It is made of white limestone topped with a grey stone slab. The tombchest has a rectangular shape with recessed baluster corners, and it features rectangular fielded panels with convex corners and carved quadrant spandrels. It has a moulded plinth and a moulded edge on the overhanging top slab, which bears a primary inscription that is now illegible. The tombchest is situated 2 meters to the southeast of the Wren Monument.
