Description

Hillside House is a detached villa dating from approximately 1830 to 1840. It is constructed of buff brick and is square in plan, with three-bay elevations. The building features a stucco plinth, a plat band, and stucco detailing to the flat eaves of the hipped slate roof. Brick chimney stacks have grouped square shafts. The windows are widely spaced revealed glazing bar sashes with stucco architraves on the ground floor. A stucco plastered porch with side lights on round arched panels is enclosed to the front. Some alterations to the windows on the side elevations were made in the late 19th century. A two-storey, partly roughcast service wing is located at the rear.
