Description

The coachhouse at Corneybury, now used as a garage, dates from the early 18th century, with the roof rebuilt in the early 19th century to a lower pitch. It is constructed of pale red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof. The building is a symmetrical two-storey rectangular block facing south, with a full-height round arched central carriageway and two circular openings on the upper floor above wide garage doors. This structure is likely the earlier stable block for Corneybury, positioned to face the house across the courtyard. It is included in the listing for its group value.
