Description
The North Barn and Stable at Cutting Hill Farm, located 5 meters to the west of the house, is a barn with an attached stable. The barn dates from the 17th century, while the stable was built in the early 19th century. The structure features timber frames set on stucco sills and is covered in dark weatherboarding with slate roofs. The barn has three bays and faces south, with a gabled front porch and double doors. It includes long curved tension braces and has a later floor inserted in the eastern bay. The stable, which is lower and attached to the west end of the barn at an angle, faces east and also has three bays. It features unjowled posts with knee braces supporting the tie beams of the collar-beam trusses, and a clasped purlin roof.
