Description
Cosy Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier and was raised to two storeys in the early 19th century. It has a timber frame set on a brick sill and is plastered, with the frame exposed on the north gable due to building work in 1984. The roof is covered with asbestos slates. The house has a two-storey, two-cell plan and faces west onto the street. The entrance is located in the southern part of the building, positioned between two windows. There is an external gable chimney on the southern part and a rear wall chimney on the northern part. The ground floor front windows are tall margin-light sashes, while smaller sash windows are situated just under the eaves on the first floor. The front door is a panelled margin-light design with a weatherhood supported by brackets. An extension to the north is not of special interest. The cottage is included in the register for its group value.
