Description
Byrds is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, originally built with a timber frame and thatched roof. It has been refaced in red brick and the south side was rebuilt in the early 19th century. The house has two storeys, with the northern side being lower. The half-hipped northern side features a thatched porch, which is flanked by twin casement windows on both the ground and first floors, one of which has leaded glass. The southern part of the house, which is said to have been rebuilt after a fire, has 6/6 sash windows. The roof is covered with modern pan tiles, but there is an older red square chimney stack located at the junction of the two blocks.
