Description
Maltings Cottage and The Laurels are cottages located on Malting Lane in Hadham Cross, with origins likely dating back to the 17th century. This group of cottages has undergone significant restoration. Maltings Cottage, which has its gable end facing the road, features a timber frame with weatherboarding up to the sill level on the east side and imitation half-timbering. It has a half-hipped thatched roof and two windows on the east front, which are leaded casements located on the ground floor and in two eyebrow dormers. The Laurels is a northern extension that forms an L shape. It is weatherboarded and has an old tile roof, standing two storeys tall with leaded casements on both the ground and first floors, located on the east gable end.
