Description
Hay Lodge is a lodge built in the early to mid 19th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. It features painted brickwork beneath a tiled roof, which has been renewed in the original pattern of alternating bands of plain and fish-scale tiling. Designed in the Cottage Orne style, it has a deep roof overhang supported by unsawn tree trunks, with rustic bracing at the eaves. The building is single storey with a hipped roof and a central chimney stack, which was remodelled in the late 20th century. The windows are lattice casement style, with those on the main elevation including transoms.
