Description

The north wall to The Cedars Park is an early 17th century red brick structure that was formerly part of Theobalds Palace. It has been altered on the eastern side in the 18th century. The wall is approximately 210 meters long and averages two and a half meters in height. The lower two-thirds of the wall is thicker, featuring sloped coping and a moulded brick plinth, while the upper part is buttressed. There is a round bastion at the western end. Two-thirds of the wall towards the east is set forward and features 18th century cast iron railings with square end piers. The eastern portion of the wall, dating from the 18th century, is constructed from a softer red brick and includes four sunken panels.
