Description
Nos 87 and 89 on High Street in Hoddesdon are 16th or 17th century timber-framed buildings that were refronted in the late 19th century. They are two storeys tall and feature two gabled casement attics with crocketed bargeboards. The ground floor is made of red brick, while the first floor is roughcast, topped by a steep slate roof. The first floor has sash windows set in moulded frames, with a triple-hung window in the center. There is a moulded eaves cornice, and the building has three bays. Inside, the upper floor and attic reveal exposed framing. At the back, there is a 19th-century extension made of roughcast, brick, and an old-tile roof, which includes casement windows and both horizontally and vertically hung sash windows.
