Description
Nos 226 and 228 on High Street in Waltham Cross are mid-18th century buildings, likely fronting an earlier timber frame structure. The ground floor is weatherboarded, while the upper floor is roughcast, and both have modern red tile roofs. The buildings are two storeys high and feature a continuous wooden eaves cornice with dentil moulding. No 226 boasts an impressive doorcase with fluted Ionic pilasters, an entablature with a modillioned cornice and pediment, and a flush panel door. Both ground and first floor have casement windows with glazing bars. No 228 contains a modern ground floor shop.
