Description
207 High Street is an 18th-century building with a 16th-century timber frame core, originally a public house known as The Vine. The exterior is roughcast over brick, with cement dressings and an old red tile mansard roof. The building is two storeys with attics. The central doorway has a moulded architrave surround and heavy brackets supporting a renewed cornice hood. Mid-19th century three-light casement windows and two-light box dormers are present. A coved cornice with a cyma recta detail tops the facade. A mid-19th century single-storey extension projects from the south, featuring a gable end facing the road and a sash window. At the rear, a central gabled staircase tower and a 19th-century lean-to with a pantile roof are visible.
