Description
The Pound House is a cottage from the 18th century that was extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with plastered walls and tiled roofs. The building has bays with a central chimney stack and a lobby entrance, along with lean-to extensions at each end and a rear extension from the 19th or 20th century. It is a single storey with attics and has a gambrel roof that is half-hipped at each end. The lower part of the walls is covered with weatherboarding. On the ground floor, there are three 20th-century casement windows and a 20th-century gabled porch, along with two catslide dormers that also have 20th-century casement windows. There is a Y-plan stair located at the rear of the chimney stack, which is likely original, and the house retains its original floorboards.
