Description
Black Hall Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was extended in the 19th century. The building is timber-framed and has been plastered, with a tiled roof. Originally it comprised three bays, featuring a lobby-entrance with a central stair, and one room on each side, with internal chimney stacks in each gable. A two-storey rear extension was added in the 19th century, along with a single-storey extension to the northeast during the same period. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with attics within a gambrel roof. It now has 20th-century casement windows and a six-panel door with an early 19th-century hood. Inside, the ceilings have stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and stone flags are present in the entrance lobby.
