Description
This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 110 metres southeast of Chickney Hall. The barn features weatherboard cladding over a timber frame and has a gabled roof made of both old and machine-made tiles. There is a mid-19th century brick stack on the right side outshut. The structure consists of three bays, with a central midstrey flanked by mid-19th century outshuts. The midstrey has double plank doors. Inside, the barn retains a complete 17th-century timber frame, which includes jowled posts that are arch-braced to tie beams. The roof is a collar-truss design with raking struts supporting clasped purlins.
