Sapling Cottage and Oak Cottage are an early 19th century pair of houses located on Orange Street in Thaxted. They are timber framed and plastered, topped with a grey slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and feature a five-window range with 19th century and modern casements that include glazing bars. Red brick chimney stacks are present on both cottages.
