Nos 51 and 53 on Newbiggen Street are early 18th century cottages that are timber framed and plastered, topped with a half-hipped roof made of red plain tiles. The cottages are two storeys high and feature an extension at the south end. There is a three-window range with modern casements and a modern porch. The entrance includes a six-panel door, and there is an original red brick chimney stack.
