No. 48 Newbiggen Street is an early 15th century small house positioned at right angles to the street. It features a timber frame with plaster and a red plain tile roof. The house is two stories tall and has a three-window range of double hung vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars. There is a six-panel door topped with a flat moulded canopy. Inside, the timber frame is exposed, showcasing the original crown post roof.
