Description

No. 61 Lower Street is an 18th-century red brick house featuring a parapet and a dentilled brick cornice on the east front. At the rear, there are 19th-century timber-framed and weather-boarded additions. The house has two storeys and attics, with a three-window range of double-hung sashes that include glazing bars in flush cased frames. The ground storey features two late 19th-century canted bays. The central doorway has a six-panel door, fluted pilasters, an ornamented frieze, a cornice, and an ornamental fanlight. The front block has a tiled roof with two hipped dormers and end external chimney stacks, while the rear block has a slate roof.
