Description
No. 52 Pottergate is a house dating from the 18th century, with a 19th-century extension to the east. It is constructed of red brick and has a pantile roof. The building stands three storeys tall and features five main bays along with a single bay extension. The central entrance is framed by a rusticated surround and a pediment that is supported by scroll consoles, with a keystone shaped like a female head. The house has sash windows throughout, which include glazing bars and are topped with rubbed brick flat arches. There is a fascia cornice along the top, and the hipped roof covers the original 18th-century section. Inside, there are three rooms with fielded plaster panelling, and one room boasts a fine coved cornice decorated with a swag. At the time of the re-survey, the house was undergoing renovation.
