Description

The Old Bakery is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house located on an L-shaped plan with a cross wing at the south end. It has two storeys, and both the cross wing and the main block feature jettied sections on the east front, supported by exposed joists. The front is decorated with pargetting in panels that display traditional patterns, while the north end showcases exposed timber-framing. The building has three windows, which are modern casements. The gable of the south cross wing is adorned with original carved bargeboards. The roof is tiled, featuring a gambrel shape at the north end, and includes a central chimney stack with grouped diagonal shafts and a later capping.
