Description

This is a late 17th-century terrace of three cottages located on the west side of Newbiggen Street, Thaxted. The cottages are timber-framed and have plastered walls, with a red plain tile hipped roof. They are two storeys high and feature a seven-window facade. The windows are a mix of modern casements and 18th-century double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. Flat canopies and pilasters are present over the doors. An original red brick chimney stack remains. Modern pargetting (decorative plasterwork) is visible on the exterior.
