Description

This is an 18th-century terrace of three cottages situated on the west side of Buxton Road, at the north entrance to Ashbourne. The cottages are constructed of red brick with a double-span roof covered in old tiles. They are two storeys high, each with a single window. Most windows are sash windows with glazing bars, although number 18 features a small 18th-century square bay window with glazing bars on the ground floor. A leaded canopy extends over this bay window and over the recessed doorways of numbers 18 and 20. The recessed doorways are framed by panelled pilasters and an entablature with an architrave, all decorated with a Greek Key motif. Each cottage has a six-panelled door sheltered by a small hood. The listed buildings on the west side of Buxton Road form a group.
