Leez Priory Garden Wall

Leez Priory Garden Wall is a Grade I listed structure, likely built around 1537, that forms three sides of a garden, specifically the south, west, and north. The wall is constructed of red brick and features dentil moulding at the top. It generally stands between 8 to 10 feet high but reaches over 20 feet on the south face, where it incorporates remnants of a former building. This section has two extensions to the east, with the northernmost extending southeast and featuring pug holes for floor joists and a "knocked-out" opening to the west. Both the south and west faces of the wall have eight buttresses each. Notable features include a fine wrought iron entrance gate at the southeast extension and a smaller wrought iron garden gate on the west face. The wall encloses an orchard, kitchen garden, and fish pond, terminating at the southeast with the entrance gate and an adjoining outbuilding, and at the northeast with the Fisherman's Hut.
