Description

This barn, located 35 meters south-west of Elmdon Lodge, dates from the 17th century. It features an aisled, timber-framed structure with black weatherboarding. Originally consisting of four bays, it has an additional bay at the southern end. The roof is covered with corrugated iron, hipped at the northern end and half hipped at the southern end, with a cart entrance on the southern gable. There is a later lean-to implement shed on the western side. The posts are jowled, supporting a slightly curved arcade and tie beam braces. The roof structure includes side purlins with raking struts, and there are straight aisle braces, with part of the western aisle raised.
