Description
The Bangles is a Grade II listed building located on Elmdon High Street. This structure consists of four dwellings and was originally a 16th century timber-framed and plastered house designed in a half H plan, with wings extending to the east. The west front features gables at both the north and south ends, with the upper storey at the south end jettied out over the front. The building has two storeys and attics, and the upper storey on the south side showcases exposed timber-framing. There is a modern addition at the north end and a single storey extension at the south end. The windows are casement style, and there is an original doorway at the south end. The roof is tiled and includes an original external chimney stack at the south end, which is stepped and has two hexagonal shafts. Inside, the building retains heavy exposed timber-framing, along with ceiling beams and joists.
