Description

The Orchard is a cottage that dates from the 18th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, featuring a central red brick chimney stack and a roof made of red and pantiles. The building is single storey with gable extensions at both the front and rear. It has a range of four windows, primarily consisting of small-paned vertically sliding sashes, and a 20th-century door located to the right. There is also a single light window in the central extension. Inside, notable features include a back-to-back inglenook fireplace, cambered tie beams, jowled storey posts, and a small halved and bridled top plate scarf, which may not be in its original position.
