Description

Two cottages, likely dating back to the 17th century, with possible earlier origins and later alterations. The cottages are timber-framed and plastered, with batten decoration to the first floor, painted brick to the ground floor, and weatherboard returns. They have a red plain tiled roof and a central red brick chimney stack. The cottages are two storeys high, featuring a two-window range of small-paned casement windows. Each cottage has a vertically boarded door. Inside No. 29, features include a large back-to-back chimney stack now with a 20th-century fireplace. There are large, chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, heavy wall studs bearing carpenters' marks, and a good quality side purlin roof pegged at the ridge.
