Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on West Street, Harwich. The main fabric is gault brick, with the ground floor rebuilt in red brick using a Flemish bond pattern. The roof is hidden behind high, plain parapets, with chimney stacks at each flank. The exterior has three storeys. The second floor features two low, wide flush double-hung sash windows, each with eight large panes, set within rubbed brick arches. The first floor has two larger, square double-hung sash windows, each with sixteen panes, also within rubbed brick arches. The ground floor includes a 20th-century flat-hooded doorcase enclosing a recessed six-panel door with two glazed upper panels. A wide, 20th-century tripartite double-hung sash window, with small panes and stretcher courses, completes the ground floor elevation. The interior was not inspected.
