Description

No. 59, West Street is an early 19th-century house. It is constructed of red Flemish-bond brickwork with a clay plain tile gabled roof and one tall ridgeline stack. The house is two storeys high. The first floor has three small, square, flush double-hung sash windows with small panes, each with a slightly arched rubbed brick head. The ground floor has a similar, slightly larger, central double-hung sash window and a front entrance with a semicircular arched head and a semicircular fanlight. The entrance door is six-panelled, with the two upper panels glazed. A similar arched opening with a plain glass fanlight provides access to a yard passage; one side of this opening is weatherboarded. The interior has not been inspected. This building demonstrates group value.
